The image opposite shows a design of glassware for Soxhlet extraction of compounds using solvents. The glassware shown opposite consists of the following.

Round bottom flask for boiling the solvent. (available in different volumes).

Soxhlet extractor  body for collecting the solvent as it is distilled & extracting the compounds of interest out of the thimbles. The type shown opposite utalise flat flange joints with flat flange lids and clamps to allow for  larger samples & larger siphoning volumes.

Condenser (Double surface) for refluxing,   different types available.
