Corrosion Glassware
Setup The corrosion glassware setup shown opposite is used to measure the corrosivity towards metals & alloys of both aqueous & non - aqueous liquid wastes. This test exposes corrosion coupons to the liquid waste to be evaluated by measuring the degree to which the coupon has been dissolved. The setup is divided into the individual items shown below. |

The type of corrosion vessel shown opposite is manufactured from borosilicate glass and has a flat ground glass flange on the top which allows an air tight seal when a multi-port lid is clamped in place (clamp not visible in image). Instead of a standard flat bottom vessel all the same diameter the vessel has a small portion at the bottom of a smaller diameter where the corrosion coupons are immersed on the end of the corrosion probe or corrosion coupon holder. A flat base is put on to ensure the use of magnetic stirrers or hotplates if required. |

This type of corrosion vessel shown opposite is a variation on the one above as a outer water jacket with two screwthreads is added to alow the circualtion of a temperature controlling fluid. The flat base of the water jacket is close enough to the internal vessel it still allows for the use of a magnetic stirrer if required. |
| Our corrosion probes are manufactured from PTFE & Stainless Steel for maximum corrosion resistance. Corrosion coupons manufactured from a wide range of metals & alloys are mounted on the end of the probes through two threaded studs (see closeup) which can then be removed for analysing. |
